Frederick R. Sargent Frederick R. Sargent, age 67, of Harrison, Michigan and formerly of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Gratiot Medical Center in Alma, Michigan. He was born the son of Raymond J. and Rebecca L. (Woolman) Sargent on August 29, 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan. Upon finishing high school, he went on to work in retail liquor sales as a bartender. On August 29, 1975, he was united in marriage to the former Judith F. Goodwin in Harrison, Michigan. Mr. Sargent was also a member of the Harrison Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2235 and was a past-member of the Harrison Men's Pool League for over twenty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed: playing pool, hunting, attending car shows, playing baseball with his children, fishing, and playing croquet. His greatest-passion was being able to spend time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Judith F. Sargent of Harrison; his sons: Frederick (Laurie) Sargent, Jr. of Pontiac, Michigan, James Brooks of Ionia, Michigan, Joey Brooks and Jeff Brooks of Harrison, Michigan; daughters, Joy (Jerry) Schullar of Mio, Michigan, Tammy Bailey and fiancee , Ray Ziegler, of Gladwin, Kathy (Larry) Mroczkowski of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jill Brooks of Plattsburgh, New York, and Terry (Lewis) Marotz of Pontiac, Michigan; a brother, Charles (Linda) Sargent of Harrison; a sister, Norma (Jim) Gerber of Caryville, Tennessee; sixteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sharon Cowell, one granddaughter, a great-grandson, and several nieces, nephews and close friends. A celebration of Fred's life was held on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stocking Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Officers and members of the Harrison Loyal Order of Moose Lodge# 2235 conducted a service in memory and in honor of Mr. Sargent's dedication to the lodge prior to the service. Gene L. Woolman Gene L. Woolman,. age61 of Pennsville died Sunday April 4, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Upper Pittsgrove and was the son of the John M. and Dorothy Ernest Woolman. Gene was a lifelong Pennsville resident. He was employed as a machinist for the Valero Oil Company in Paulsboro where he retired in 2010 following 32 years service. Gene loved his Harleys, boating and trips to the Jersey Shore. Survived by a son, Gene R. Woolman and his wife Nancy of Carney’s Point and a daughters Tara L. Simmons and her husband Barry of Deepwater, Joyce Woolman of FL, and Kathy Jean Ridgeway of Tx, brothers, Ernest Woolman of DE, sisters, Joan Pancoast of LAC, and Ann Hutton of Pennsville, grandchildren, Sage, Poppy, Kaleigh, Cheyanne, Sawyer, Zoey, A.J., Jordan, and Daniel. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday April, 8th at the LAUGHREY FUNERAL HOME, Pennsville where friends may call Wednesday evening from 7: 00 to 9:00 PM. Roxy Woolman Cook Roxy Woolman Cook, 56, died Sunday, March 7, in her Kingwood, Texas residence. She was a native of Lake Charles and was a longtime resident of Sulphur before moving to Kingwood, Texas ten years ago. Roxy enjoyed cooking, fishing, shopping with her daughters, and spending time with her family. She was previously a member of Glad Tidings Church in Lake Charles. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Bill Cook of Kingwood, Texas; her son, Ryan Cook and wife, Samantha of Fairfield, Texas; two daughters, Kari Cook Johnson and husband, Joel, and Jessica Cook House and husband, Ben, all of Kingwood, Texas; two sisters, Pam Babineaux and husband, Gary of Sulphur and Karen Corkran and husband, Kenneth of DeRidder; and two grandchildren, Kate Paislie Johnson and Skylar Rayne Cook. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Peggy Woolman. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Carl Ducat will officiate. Pallbearers will be Stan Czepiel, Steve Aguillard, Johnny Peel, Lee Byrd, Justin Babineaux, Jeff Babineaux, and Honorary Pallbearer will be Dick Casiday. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home. |
